l’Espace Muséel d’Andenne – l’EMA – Promenade des Ours, 5300 Andenne
Invited for 3 weeks to work in the ceramics workshop of the Centre Culturel, the Korean artist Jeisung Oh will immerse himself in Western culture, in Belgium, in the town of Andenne.
Interested in religions, since 2019 he has been making pilgrimages to cult sites, Buddhist temples, churches and cathedrals throughout Korea. He wishes to recreate the myths, legends and folk tales of these contemporary meanings through his sculptures.
Changing environment, habits, materials; being immersed in another world allows the artist to reflect deeply on his work, his approach and the meaning of his creation.
Strengthened by what has built him up but inevitably impacted by where he is, Jeisung Oh will exhibit the creations made during his residency on the top floor of the Musée de la Céramique in Andenne. Thus overlooking the city that has influenced him.
A temporary exhibition from the Ceramics Museum presented at the Espace muséal d’Andenne (Le Phare)
With the precious support of the Korean Cultural Centre Brussels and the Korea Ceramic Foundation (Icheon World Ceramic Centre)
