Ceramic Art Andenne 2021 – International exhibitions

The Cultural Center of Andenne (Belgium) will be hosting Ceramic Art Andenne 2021 (CAA2021).

Established in 1988, Ceramic Art Andenne has become internationally renowned as one of major ceramic events in Europe. CAA is organized every three years at Andenne, in Belgium.

CAA2021 is now commencing with the announcement of application requirements for two of the main exhibitions that will be organized from April 23rd to May 24th, 2021:

• International exhibition of contemporary ceramics.
• International thematic exhibition of contemporary ceramics. Theme: «Vision(s)».
You might want to show a world that could be, or could have been … a parallel world or a future world. You might want to refer to a concept of vision as such: what I see, critically or as a testimony to the environment in which you find yourself. You might wish to refer to the figurative definition of vision: “to represent in spirit”. You might wish to be shown as an artist-witness of his time and his culture or rather an artist who puts his creativity at the service of society and offers alternatives, utopias. You might want to show us being the artist who imagines or dreams and who shares his dream.

4 PRIZES have already been confirmed: The Grand Prize (€ 2,500), the 2nd Prize (€ 1,000), the 3rd Prize (€ 500) and the Public Prize (€ 500). They will be awarded among the ceramists participating in the contemporary exhibition and in the thematic exhibition : VISIONS.

These exhibitions bring together the works of selected artists from around the world, expressing the modern trends and point to the future of the ceramic arts. All works of art that use ceramics as the main material are eligible to be submitted to our international Selection Committee.
The core mission of CAA2021 is to promote the contemporary creation and the practices of ceramics in the artistic and cultural world as well as to facilitate access to contemporary art.
Many other exhibitions and cultural activities will be organized during the event.

Application period : from March 1st to April 30th August 9th, 2020.

The Ceramic Market moves to Place des Tilleuls (in front of the town hall) and the Promenade des Ours as to provide a better visibility and make a logical connection with the “Phare” which houses the new Ceramics Museum.

The next edition will be May 23 and 24, 2021.

The call for candidates will be launched in January 2021
